This infrastructure serves all the telecommunication needs of organizations, such as voice and data. Since a structured cabling system lasts for 10 to 20 years, it involves extensive planning. A well-laid out structured cabling system is very crucial to ensure an uninterrupted flow of information, both to and from the organization.

With a hub, bandwidth is shared by all the devices connected to it. Whereas in the case of a switch, each of its ports have dedicated bandwidth of their own.

What are the advantages of a switch?

Because each of its ports has dedicated bandwidth, a switch is usually faster than a hub (where the bandwidth is shared). Apart from offering high speed, a switch is more stable and less vulnerable to errors when compared to a hub.

What are the key things to look for when choosing a home automation system?

An efficient home automation system can make a big difference to the quality of life of users. When choosing a home automation system you need to look at: interoperability (ability to tie different electronic devices together so they can work cohesively); remote access (i.e. ability to operate your home automation system even when you’re not at home); and upgradeability (the ability to seamlessly upgrade the home automation system to suit new technologies).

Which devices can be controlled via home automation solutions?

Our home automation solutions can be used for all the essential applications in a modern home, such as lighting, cameras, security systems & access control, home theater & entertainment, phone systems, thermostats, irrigation, and cable & structured wiring.

Is home automation technology affordable for the average homeowner?

Yes. For under $500, you can set up a basic home automation system that allows you to control lights and some other essentials like a thermostat. Contact us to know more about various home automation solutions for different budgets.

Many people say home automation is impractical for the average homeowner?

While at the outset, many people say they do not require a home automation technology, there are so many times they actually need one, without realizing. For example, so many times people are wondering about the status of their thermostat within 15 minutes of leaving their home. Or they wonder whether they have closed the door properly. Therefore home automation is as much a necessity as any of the other regular appliances.

How difficult it is to use a home automation system?

Home automation systems are very easy to use and can be used by anyone who knows how to operate a mobile app or a remote control.

Is there a need for high-speed internet?

If you are opting for a remote home automation system, it is advisable to have a high speed internet connection (minimum upload speed of 1 mbps).

How does home automation affect energy consumption?

Home automation provides tremendous scope for reducing energy consumption. For example, your smart thermostat will set the heating and cooling based on a schedule determined in advance, without you having to manually reset it every time. Even if you opt for a basic home automation system, you can easily control the unwanted use of lighting, thereby saving energy.
